Story Boards have been popular for a while @ Heidi Wood Photography , traditionally they have been in 2 sizes the 10x20 and the 5x30. I have added the 16x20 as a new size for 2011 for the senior packages.

They are a little larger and give more room for extra pictures, if you just can't decide. Here is a sample I made from a recent senior session from SSS High School. I think it turned out nice- what do you think?

Story Boards are very popular @ the studio and come in lots of different sizes. This is one I made for a senior in a 10x20 . It's a nice way to display several of your favorites without buying a big portrait of each one. Other popular sizes are the 16x20 and the 20x20, and I have frames for them all !

Woodall's Fitness- Clayton, NC

I spent some time with Woodall's Fitness this week photographing the facility and staff for some new advertising material. I also had the chance to watch and photograph the " Underground Bootcamp" ! What a workout ! It was amazing to hear the testimonies of some of the people who have stuck with the program. 30lbs to 90lbs weight loss ! Woodalls is located @ 34-101 Oleander Dr. in Clayton ( near the Food Lion off 42 East) When your out that way stop by and check it out. James is an awesome guy to work with :)

You don't have to have your senior pictures done by the school photographer and they won't tell you this when you call to make the appointment for your yearbook picture. Why? Because they don’t want you to know there are other options for your senior pictures !!
Now...why should you let Me do your pics? I will spend a lot of time finding out what YOU like... ( and it will be fun) We will get some really great outside shots around Downtown Clayton, NC and then finish up with some more inside ! About a week after your session, I will post your images on line in a password protected gallery. You can view your images on-line and make a list of your favorites. Then we will make an appointment for you to come back in and order. And, just so you'll know, all your pictures are retouched before they leave the studio. So...if a blemish just "happened" to show up on the day you've scheduled your pictures, don't worry about it. Really ! So give us a call and schedule your senior session. When you come in you can also register to win a Free I-pod Touch! :)

I photographed Ian last week. He needed some new headshots. Ian is a junior @ CHS and is also a talented young actor. I have seen him in several performances, some with the Clatyon Youth Theatre. His next performance will be in the play Pippin ( Feb. 19-20th) it's the story of a young prince who longs for true happiness. If you get a chance Come and check it out !

I have been photographing these two since before they could sit up. We went to the Park last week for some Fall pictures . I photographed them together and seperately. We walked all over the park and they led the way. The boys had some great ideas on where and how they wanted to be photographed. I think children respond better if I let them have some imput! I took a few of my favorites and made a story board for their Mom . Now is a great time to book your outside sessions and story boards are a great way to have several of your favorites hanging on the wall. They come in sizes 11x14 to 30x40 !

Yesterday I drove to Benson and photographed the contestants for the Miss Johnston County Pageant. The Pageant will be Jan. 30th and 31st at the Clayton Center. Hello

Time is flying and this year is almost over, I can't believe it! I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving, we stayed here and did not travel for a change. I had an oncology appt at Duke and all is still well, no cancer! I turned 16 last week and did not get the Mustang GT or ferari that I thought I was getting, maybe next year! HA HA.

Some things that have been happening this year as most of you know it has been an exciting year for Nickelby with President Bush's visit in July! We added some new projects and are busy for the holiday season to help these kids smile and bring some cheer. We had some great fundraisers and have partnered with some great people. I feel so thankful that so many people are behind this project that means so much to me. THANKS TO EVERYONE.

I have had the huge honor of being awarded the Outstanding Young Philanthropist award for the Triangle at a recent breakfast. This means so much to me because I was nominated by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for my ongoing efforts with the awesome work they do for families with blood cancers. The place was filled with 400 people who give so much of themselves everyday in many ways and they were there to honor others that work so hard to help others too. I met some really nice people so hello to all of you!

We will be making our Christmas/ Holiday gifts soon, we have been lucky enough to secure a space at the Church at Clayton Crossings to assemble and wrap on Wednesday December 10th from 6- 8:30. The teen group will be helping and if anyone else wants to come lend a hand we would love to have the help. We will be loading all of the gifts up in the Nickelby trailer and getting ready for holiday deliveries. Please let me know if you would like to help.

If I do not get another email out before Christmas or New Years, I would like to send my wishes out now. Have a safe, healthy and happy holiday and New year!!

I recently went out and photographed

the Jordan Family @ their farm. They have a beautiful home and a gorgeous farm. We spent a couple of hours walking around and looking for all the "good " spots. We found a lot of them-the weather was great and the sun was nice coming across the farm. Thanks Jeri for dragging around all my reflectors and blocking the sun!
